Plus 44 is like totally like totally like the greatest fucking like fucking thing... like .... uh, like.. ever!

So, still in Punta Mita. First night of Hanukkah = a blast. Especially considering everyone forgot the words to "Dreidel, Dreidel." And we don't have our Hanukkah book that we usually use to lead us... we definitely forgot the words to "Rock of Ages," and we don't the second prayer you're supposed to sing on the first night. Wow. How orthodox is that! Despite it all, presents were had, tears were shed (...this is MY family we're talking about, remember?), and there was definitely a father-daughter dance along to U2... i sat there with the other daughter and dad's girlfriend and watched in delight/horror as dad pretended to be a ballroom-dancing BONO.

Despite my initial hesitancy and distaste for it, 24: Season 2... not that bad. The suspense builds like some sort of unstoppable erection. I'm sorry, that's inappropriate. But seriously... you keep waiting for the climax... and the whole episode you're waiting for the inevitable moment to come. Regardless, they've got some seriously talented writers working on that drama. It is like camping.

Dad's girlfriend arrived today. She seems nice. Real (as opposed to plastic). As long as she doesn't hurt my dad and she treats me and my sisters kindly, I won't really have any problem. Only Pops seems to change slightly around her. but it's cool. the hermanas and i can have a good laugh about how weird it is that he strokes her leg in public with us at the table. AWKWARD.

2:45am. Awesome. Not one page was read today. oh well... it's worth having this quote to cite...

"Interestingly, it was proctology that helped pave the way for surgery's acceptance as a respectable branch of medicine. In 1687, the king of France was surgically relieved of a painful and persistent anal fistula and was apparently quite grateful for, and vocal about, his relief." - Mary Roach, [STIFF]

That's all for now. Here's to the nights we felt alive.
